Dear all,
In order to make all necessary preparations we are locking down addresses on Tuesday. Please complete the surveys we sent out from Backerkit so we have your latest addresses and ships the correct colours.
[email protected] - for support
If you need any help, updating addresses or support setting your pin and app up please email us at [email protected]! We are a small team and in order to give you the best possible support we have set up a ticket system so we can track any issues and responses.
Missing backers in BackerKit
Due to IndieGoGo rules we can import your pledges 10 days after it has been registered on IndieGoGo. So some of you late backers will receive your BackerKit emails a little later in this month. Not to worry, we'll get your orders handled in time anyway.
Cheers!

Backerkit Surveys Sent
Dear all IndieGoGo Backers - thanks for your support during this project! As you all know we are preparing to ship all the pins to our Kickstarter and IndieGoGo backers. We are shipping around 1900 pins in one go and in order to handle this task we are using Backerkit as one service to ensure that we can handle this with minimal screw ups!
We just sent out a survey from Backerkit, use the link to verify that you shipping address is correct. You can also purchase additional pins during this step if you wish.
If you have any questions please contact us at [email protected]
Have a great weekend!

Dear backers,
In our previous update we were somewhat optimistic about shipping dates. The LCDs are on their way but haven’t arrived to the factory yet. The manufacturer has requested more wiggle room in order to make sure they can keep a firm ship out date and given us 31 October as a firm date - provided that the displays are ok when they arrive. They are entitled to this according to our contract so not much we can do about it. But it is also a quality matter as we don’t want to ship any flawed pins.
However
We will start shipping out the units we have already manufactured to Early Access Backers and start some more serious beta testing Hopefully we’ll be able to sort out most of the bugs in the app before you guys get your pins.
Moreover we hope to use the extra time to add some additional features to the app. One really nice feature we’re looking into right now is the ability to import GIFs from Giphy directly in the app.
The Clip
We have done some experiments with an alternate way to attach the pin. Hopefully we can have a sample of it by next week. Can’t promise that we can ship the pins with them as time is short. As soon as we have first samples we’ll post some images.

Hey all,
We hope you all have had a great summer! We have been busy preparing for manufacturing, fine tuning firmware, shipping and getting apps into a releasable shape. :)
Shipping
We’re getting ready to ship your pins and we are very excited about this! We have done a small test shipment to verify the process from molding plastic in China to arrival in Stockholm for a small batch of pins. As always there was things to adjust but overall it worked out pretty well.
During the week that starts with September 18th we will mount the components onto the PCBs. As soon as the LCDs arrive we can make the final assembly, sonic welding and testing. The LCD:s are estimated to arrive to our factory September 22nd. As soon as they arrive we’ll get a slot in the factory and a final shipping date. The factory will be closed the first week in October due to Chinese holiday so depending on when the LCD:s arrive we’ll be able to ship late in September or in mid October. We’ll tell you guys the exact shipping date as soon as we get it.
We’ve done everything in our power to get both the LCD vendor and our manufacturer to commit to firm shipping and delivery dates, but in the end have had to accept that we’re only a small customer - so far.
Apps
MVP of the iOS and Android Apps are completed, you who have signed up for Early Access will get an invite shortly. Apple is more meticulous when it comes to the approval process and required us to send a pin to Cupertino in order to approve our app.
We are improving the apps continuously with new features every week. The latest feature is a GIF converter that converts photos from your photo library to GIFs that can be worn on the pin. See a beautiful example of yours truly uploaded to the pin in this manner below.
Check your emails for address updates
We will send out an email where you can check that we have the correct shipping address to you. It come from our Backerkit account so please double check that the information we have is correct!

With two pins on my jacket I entertained half a subway cart on my way home from work yesterday I will summarize my impressions after 4 months of wearing the pin in a later update but one thing is for sure - one does get a lot of attention wearing them :)
On the development side we are rushing forward with finalizing all the details that are needed to ship your pledges. We are making a final pre-series next week with a mix of black and white pins. With these we will identify two golden samples which will used as standard for all the pins once in mass production!
Backside print
The final touches are made to the pin and below you can see a first take on the silk screen print on the back side of the pin. The mandatory certification logos will be slightly darker and samples of these are due at the same time as the last pre-series batch.
Needle
The first version of the needle (to the left) have a tendency to tilt the pin forward. It works well with thicker fabrics but when attached to a t-shirt there is too much air between the needle and the pin. We made a second, much tighter version of the needle (on the right). This tighter version is slightly harder to attach but once there it is kept in place way better than the older version. There will probably be more iterations needed though.
Packaging
We received the first packaging samples two weeks ago, have made some adjustments, added some information and shifted insert from pulp to paper. Final (hopefully) samples in two weeks time.
Firmware
Our biggest challenge during this project have definitely been the firmware. We have reached a 1.0 version. Still need some small adjustments before being production ready but we don’t see them as anything near as showstoppers. But software is software and more tests are needed just to be sure that we don’t have any nasty bugs…
So ship the d***n pins then ;)
We will - but we are still missing one crucial thing - a firm delivery date on the large batch of LCD’s. There are two components that aren’t interchangeable and the LCD being one of them. As I write this we still haven’t gotten a firm delivery date for them - they are promised to arrive some time in September...
Our manufacturing partner in China have committed to do all things possible to have as little lead time possible once the LCD’s arrive in the factory to when we can ship them to you. When we know the exact day that the LCD’s arrive we will know when we can start assembly and what day they will leave the factory.
